Halloween Fiasco or Halloween Blah Pt. 2
I got off work a little early today, went and picked up my daughter from after school care and headed home. When we got to our house, we had about half an hour to get her costume on before heading over to my mom's house to trick or treat through her neighborhood. I told my daughter to put on her costume and I went upstairs to lay in my bed and recover (I teach middle school, after all!) for a few minutes before the non-stop action that this evening would surely be. Well, I had about 1 minute to myself in my bed before my daughter came in to tell me she couldn't find her costume. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T FIND YOUR COSTUME!!! I spent about an hour turning my house upside down and finally came to the conclusion that she LEFT IT AT HER FATHER'S HOUSE! Luckily, we found a dress in her closet that worked.

Halloween, blah
I love Halloween! When I was a kid, I never wore the same costume twice, used to start out my trick or treating fun before it even got dark, and wouldn't stop until people were turning off their lights! My brother and I used to sit at the table after the big night with our dad looking over our shoulders, sorting our candy out into piles- chocolate, chocolate with nuts, lollypops, gum, etc. I used to take Halloween candy in my lunch for weeks. I also used to sneak handfuls of it for breakfast- don't tell my mom. I actually trick or treated until I was like 16 years old, I think. Now that I am a mom, the fun is back! Now I get to drag my kid miles, and then take all the Reece's cups out of her candy bag when she is not looking. This year, I was excited to be going to a Halloween party at my brother's house. I wanted to have a really cool costume, so I found the perfect red puffy pirate shirt online. I counted down the days. When it finally got here, it was too small, ripped and stunk so bad, I almost gagged- must have come from a real pirate! I returned it and got a refund, then before I knew it, Halloween was here and I have nothing! I guess I must be getting old or something because, for the first year ever, I am actually good with that!

Halloween Already?!
Remember when you were a kid riding in the backseat of the car and would try to see how many trucks you could get to honk? Or you would wave to people in other cars and see if you could get them to wave back?
Yesterday, my friend and I ran out to grab a quick lunch. We were stopped at a light, and happened to glance over at the car next to us. We noticed that there was a little girl hanging out the window wearing this:
Well, we both started cracking up, which made the girl want to impress us even more, so she started dancing and we started laughing even harder! That little girl made our day!
