Florida Living Can Be a Little, um...

My daughter and I were cleaning out the garage last night and she spotted a palmetto bug in a box.  I sprayed it.  It didn't die.  Then it brought a friend and chased us throughout the garage screaming and spraying!  My left ear is still ringing from the squeals!  Some neighbors were walking by and had a good laugh (I hope they didn't post a YouTube video!)
Florida may be a beautiful paradise, but be warned, we do have giant, flying bugs!

Also, today while driving home from church, there was a bit of a traffic jam.  No, it was not started by a tourist, but these:

I was afraid you'd post a picture of a Florida bug. I hear they are giant!

:-) That reminds me of life on a Pacific island. Gecko's stopping by to say "hi" and Shrews!

Trust me, Carri, we were not sticking around to take pictures! We prefer the spray, scream and run method- works best!

LOL I'm from South Georgia...we have "palmetto bugs" aka giant @ss flying cockroaches, too. O M G

They really don't die. Ever. If you see one, you know there are 200+ hanging out behind the wall.

He he, that's life in paradise, isn't it? And I can tell you, we have them too. I don't spray, that's too much to do and you end up with the smell inside the house. I just grab a broom and bash it until it's dead. Works perfect when they try to hide way up high on the wall in the living room. After a while you'll get pretty good with the bashing. ;-)

Coming from Sunday Funday. Happy July 4th.

Haha this better not happen to me! I'm thinking about looking into some coral springs real estate. Maybe being away from the shore will help avoid these kinds of bugs haha!
