Girl's Bedroom Make-Over!

I am moving right along with my summer organization projects!  So far this summer I have re-organized my pantry and my garage!  This week, my project was my daughter's room.  I still have a few tricks up my sleeve, but wanted to post some pictures of what I have done so far.  I have a two bedroom townhouse that only has two actual closets in the whole place, and they are the bedroom closets. We have those closets with the sliding mirrored doors and wire shelving inside- not very efficient.  Here is a "before" picture:
You can see there are 3 wire shelves and then 3 more shelves in the middle, but you couldn't get to it with the sliding doors, not a great use of the closet space!
Since the shelves in the middle were supporting the other 3 long wire shelves, I had to get brackets to support them before taking the middle section out.  I replaced the small night table with a medium dresser and placed a small TV on it.

I moved the bed beside the wall.  Captain's beds are awesome because of the drawers below and shelves behind for added storage!  She also has a large armoire with dress-up clothes that I moved over beside the bed.  Before it held a giant 34 inch box TV that caused me to lie awake at night praying that it would not fall and crush my kid (and I am not a worrier!)  I donated the TV to Salvation Army- they will even come pick it up!

One final design tip for a child's room, so that you do not have to constantly re-do it, is to paint circles, squares, or in this case, diamonds in a border around the room.  You can stick different "wallies" inside the designs to update the room as your child's tastes change.
The princesses are on their way out!
As I said, I am not completely done, but am well on the way to completing her room make-over!  What do you think?

Love the diamonds on the wall! Great way to reorganize the closet, too.
